3 Amazing Atlanta Markets

By August 10, 2015April 10th, 2024No Comments

Atlanta is full of amazing food venues and it’s hard to narrow down the many markets in the city to just a few favorites . . . but these are our 3 picks for knock-your-socks-off market meandering.

Sweet Auburn Curb Market

There’s a reason this market is on our tours! Besides being Atlanta’s grand dame of markets at 91 years old and Georgia’s only public market, the Curb Market vendors are passionate about their products and produce. We find a lot of products here that we don’t find elsewhere in the city, like full butchered pigs, mustard greens, and Sweetwater beer-infused soaps (yes, it’s true!).

Peachtree Road Farmers Market

The Peachtree Road Farmers Market is Atlanta’s largest producer-only market, meaning that everything sold at the market was produced by the person selling it to you.  You’ll frequently find the city’s top chefs trolling through the market, looking for produce or cheeses to include on the night’s menus and, recently, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were spotted meandering through it.

Your Dekalb Farmer’s Market

Though it’s called a “farmer’s market,” actually, all of the produce sold at Your Dekalb Farmer’s Market is purchased and sold through the market itself, meaning that YDFM is more like a typical grocery store than the Curb Market or the Peachtree Road Market.  That being said, YDFM is incredible and, honestly, one of our favorite places in the city.  In the last 30 years, YDFM has evolved from a simple farmstand to a mecca of international fare, where it’s possible to buy everything from live lobsters to fresh cheeses to pasta, injera, and samosas made in-house.
