During this experience, you’ll see Dr. and Mrs. King’s memorials and hear immersive stories of Dr. King and other Civil Rights leaders. Additionally, we’ll stop by the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church and see Dr. King’s office in the Prince Hall Grand Lodge. This local distillery offers tours, tastings, and a locker club. For a unique group experience, head there for casual drinks and a self-guided outing. Alternatively, O4W offers private event rentals for a special party or company outing. Whichever option you choose, your group will have a blast trying O4W’s whiskey, vodka, gin, and ginger lemon liqueur.

4. Sun Dial Restaurant

Take in stunning views of Atlanta’s skyline at the Sun Dial Restaurant. Above all the hustle and bustle of downtown, the Sun Dial is located 723 feet above Atlanta, atop the iconic Westin Peachtree Plaza.

This spot is perfect for an intimate dinner for up to 7 people. Try locally-inspired and locally-sourced menu items, with classic southern favorites and seasonal desserts. In addition, you can pay a modest fee to access the observatory level with 360-degree panoramic views.

5. Red Phone Booth

This Prohibition-style experience offers a walk-in cigar humidor, top-notch whiskeys and cocktails, and a 1920s speakeasy atmosphere. Memberships are also available.

The catch? You can’t just walk in. Instead, you need to secure an exclusive phone number from a member, concierge, or friend to gain access. Then, dial into the restored London antique red phone booth outside the bar. Be mindful of this spot’s upscale dress code and come dressed to impress.

6. Feel the Excitement at an Atlanta United Soccer Game – One of Our Favorite Atlanta Group Activities

Atlanta United fans are notoriously enthusiastic, fun, and loyal. As a result, watching a game at Mercedes Benz Stadium is a fun, energizing group outing.

Atlanta United won the Major League Soccer Cup in 2018, in only their second season. To get in on the fun this year, take your crew to a game with a variety of Atlanta United group ticket options. Choices include hospitality packages, special group pricing, and more.

7. See an Atlanta Hawks Basketball Game

Catch a Hawks game at State Farm Arena downtown. This hometown basketball team is one of only four NBA teams to have qualified to play in the NBA playoffs in 10 consecutive seasons in the 21st century.

10. Atlanta Contemporary Art Center

Located in Atlanta’s historic Westside corridor, this admission-free art museum is home to rotating exhibitions and energetic events. Plus, there’s free on-site parking – a rarity for many museums in Atlanta!

In other words, ACAC a no-brainer for a fun downtown Atlanta group activity. The center presents works from local, national, and international art scenes. In addition, guided in-person and virtual tours are available for groups.

11. Rialto Center for the Arts

This Georgia State University center offers a variety of live performances, some of which are free to attend. At this venue, you’ll find everything from classic orchestral music to jazz, Latin music, R&B, and more. In the same vein, the Rialto hosts comedy, theatre, and dance performances. Groups of ten or more receive a group discount.

Other popular downtown Atlanta attractions include the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN Center, and the National Center for Civil & Human Rights.

12. Explore Civil Rights History and Remember John Lewis

Honor the memory of Civil Rights leader and Congressman John Lewis at spots near Downtown Atlanta.

Throughout his life, Lewis led important Civil Rights protests like the Selma to Montgomery bus marches and the 1963 March on Washington. He also created meaningful change during his years in Congress, from 1987 until his passing in 2020.

Pin & Proper is an 8,600-square-foot indoor gaming venue in Grant Park. Here, you can play “pinfall,” a fun football-bowling hybrid game. You’ll also find elevated pub fare, local craft beers, wine, and cocktails. Additionally, enjoy the dog-friendly patio, accessible from the Beltline Southside trail.
